November 25, 2011 - As part of our Think Stray! campaign, Dr. Florin Lucaciu from Baia Mare finished his one week intensive spay/neuter training at The Veterinary Training Camp in Craiova.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Nancy Janes / Romania Animal Rescue and the support of the dedicated team from The Veterinary Training Camp, Dr. Lucaciu will be proficient in surgery when he returns to Baia Mare, and will be ready to help us improve the welfare of stray dogs as part of the Romania Animal Rescue spay and neuter project integrated with the Think Stray! campaign.

Lack of animal welfare education, irresponsible pet ownership, and lack of spaying and neutering are the number one causes of pet overpopulation in Romania, leading to the recently adopted stray dog euthanasia law.

Romania Animal Rescue is the only animal welfare organization that trains vets in Romania, and Think Stray! is the only highly interactive school-based animal welfare education campaign aimed at transforming young people's views on the challenging issue of stray animals in Romania.
